Methods and Curriculum

SPAS's teaching methods of dance are based on many different styles and dance techniques which the director, Ms. Sophatai Kanthatham (RAD Registered Teacher), and artistic director, Mr. Glenn van der Hoff (MA. Performing Arts), have acquired during their more than 30 years of professional dance experience abroad and in Thailand.

SPAS offers different curriculum such as Royal Academy of Dance (England), Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (Australia), and SPAS's own curriculum. All teachers at SPAS follow Continuous Development Programs in order to keep up-to-date with the most actual knowledge and experience of international standards.

Whether the style is Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Creative Dance, Hip-Hop, Adult or Private class, our qualified teachers will emphasize on quality dance education, advice, service and care.

Our methodical approach is preliminary focused on the individual needs and talents of each student in order to offer a holistic dance education, which will stimulate the student to enjoy and develop the art of dance.

SPAS recognizes also the importance of presenting the student's developments in a variety of shows, performances and small presentations. Students are encouraged to perform for an audience and learn how to evolve their different dance techniques as a performing artist. We organize performance annually.

Dance and music are indissolubly connected and therefore SPAS also collaborates with musicians, who are experienced in accompanying dance courses. Life music is used to develop the student's musicality in relation to dance. Our students are encouraged to take yearly examinations/assessments.
